I am sorry I have not been posting as much, or should I say hardly at all. I want you all to know I shall return soon as Douglas MacArthur once said. i've been busy starting a new job as the Baron of Music has material needs and a move I had to complete. I suspect I shall return this week to provide you with the music content you all miss. I thank you all for standing by me and my dream to be the Baron of Music.

Often my speculations are correct, sometimes they are not. Yesterday, Simon Cowell publicly announced he would not return to American Idol for season 10. While this is not breaking news, the reason why is. Questions as to the reason for his departure from American Idol have been meandering throughout the media for a month now. Well,  I believe I have the reason. No, I do not have a conclusive statement from his pubic relations manager, and no, I do not even own a crystal ball, but there was a deciding factor and the factor is none other than, (drum roll please)...Paula Abdul

Today I had the pleasure to sit in a teleconference (in my Pajama pants, no less) with Mr. Randy Jackson, a judge who’s been with American Idol since its conception by Simon Fuller on June 11, 2002. American Idol was wildly received by the American people allowing virtually unknown singers a shot to become a viable recording artist. On the promise you survived the harsh tongue of Simon Cowell, the businesslike scrutiny of Randy Jackson, and the emotional connection with Paula Abdul you would walk away at the end of the season with a fully fledged recording contract.

To understand music, you must understand Elvis Presley. "Before Elvis there was nothing, quoted John Lennon. Elvis Presley was the first true artist to give music a personality... an icon of the greatest proportions so to speak. Elvis unquestionably paved the way for every solo artist who exists today. I am NOT saying there weren't music greats before him, or after him. I am merely stating no one can, and ever will- change music as dramatically as him. Elvis was an ordinary man, he always wanted to be ordinary. It is because of his fame (I believe) which lead him to his depression, drug use, and ultimately, his demise. Wise men often say,  "Be careful in what you wish for, it may come true."
